Dr. Monalipa Dash
Associate Professor I
She is an interdisciplinary researcher and urban designer with over 18 years of combined industry and academic experience. She currently serves as an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Planning at KIIT University, Odisha. Her research focuses on sustainable urban design and the relationship between the built environment and human behavior in warm climate contexts, particularly in Indian cities. Her current work examines people’s perceptions of walking and explores how urban form, microclimatic conditions, and spatial characteristics influence walking behavior in hot environments. Her research also applies advanced analytical approaches such as space syntax and machine learning to better understand these urban dynamics and support more sustainable city planning.
